Having wanted a e93 335i for a few years, I finally plucked up the courage to buy one in October 2015. After 3 weeks of looking I found the perfect car at a company called Wynyard motor car company. Having secured the purchase I brought the car back to London on the 29th October 2015, well I tried to and within a mile the engine warning light came on as the car sputtered when trying to accelerate. I quickly drove it back and was told it had been sitting for quite a while and needed a little run to get it going again. the 250-mile drive back to London seem to help (until the subwoofers blew!!) with the car performing amazingly as soon as we got London.
All was fine and dandy for 2 weeks when the issue came back! I had it looked at and was told it was the vanos solenoids, which was replaced by Wynyard under the credit consumer act, nothing changed. The car sat at a mechanics for a few months with the mechanic trying to diagnose what was wrong, to no avail (PS the subwoofers was also changed by Wynyard). I decided to take the car back a few months later with the mechanic not having no luck.
When driving it back from Brent cross on my birthday it broke down on the a406. Overheating and red warning lights I was terrified at first, only for it to be diagnosed as thermostat and water pump failure. sounds minor but was a £750 fix! with this fixed the acceleration issue still had not gone away!
I decided to take my car to specialists called m style. they had it down to one of 2 issues. either the coil packs and spark plug or the injectors. luckily for me it was the former as the later I was quoted as a £1500 fix! still £750 for coil packs and sparks plugs wasn't an easy pill to swallow. When the car came back it was driving perfectly. and was like this for another 2 months when a new problem appeared this now being a similar issue to the first issue but now it had something to do with a boost leak. This is where things changed, and I was bitten by the modifying bug.........
